Randomly Disconnecting in games

This has happened to me twice recently, I got a c000000000005 error today, could not log in to b.net because my cd-key was in use. Came back a few minutes later and after about a minute I kept getting disconnected each time I joined a game. This happened to me as well yesterday too. Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this at all?|||I don't know the cause, but it isn't that rare of an occurance. Happens to me occasionally. I wouldn't worry about it, probably just bad luck to get it twice in a row like that

Ok now it will not let me connect to b.net at all...., its has been saying for the past few hours that my CD-Key is currently being used.....|||Hm, usually that goes away after a few minutes. Temp Restriction

[:1]Anyone know whats going on? I read on various forums about what causes it, logging in and out to fast ect. But I am getting it after playing in a game for 20 min ill dc try to get back in and get it. I am not muling or relogging at all.

This has happened 4 times today and a few times earlier this week. I actually had to wait 24 hours for one.

Anyone know why I am getting this? I actually got a chance to play today and most of I have been looking at this screen.|||try to change your IP when it happens

I can't pick up my Horadric Staff

[:1]I was in the tomb of Tal Rasha and as I was about to put my Horadric Staff into light thingy to go fight Duriel and as I was in the process of dragging it over I died. Now I believe the horadric staff is on my corpse and it wont allow me to loot it. I've managed to get everything else off my corpse except the staff. Everytime I attempt to loot my corpse it says I'm overburdened (which is not the case majority of my inventory is empty. I'd appreciate any help or advice.|||I don't have anything helpful to say, but clearing the room and hallways before playing with objective pieces helps in not dying.

Try making a new staff, or getting one from another player. Or better, join a party that is working on that quest, and be there when they open the tomb.

Chaos Sanctuary Seal

[:1]The seal for Lord de Seis never seems to work properly. Sometimes it works after dozens of clicks on it, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. It's just that seal, and it does that every single time.

If this is a topic that's been beaten to death multiple times already, I'm sorry, but I couldn't find anything via forum search.|||It's always worked for me to stand due west of the seal (in the corner) and then click.|||Yea, sometimes you have to walk around it a bit but the south west corner is usually the best. If you can't get it, cast a tp, that will usually make it work just fine. Casting a tp will also fix other things in the game that become unclickable for some reason.|||@kestegs

I've noticed the same TPs help.

Also, I've had luk just walking away from it and coming back to it a moment later. That always seems to clear up the issue for me!|||Casting summoning spells like Valkyrie or a golem seem to do the trick sometimes, also tps work well.|||try to open it from differen corners

European Realm connectivity issues

[:1]Is anyone on the European realm other than me experiencing an ''Unable to connect to battle.net'' message?

Ok there's quite a story behind all of this.

I bought a new copy of the game to install on to my laptop so I could run it off something other than the family computer, only to walk directly into a host of compatibility problems with Windows 7, so I decided to redeem the serial code on battle.net and get the digital download to see if it would overcome the compatibility issues, only to find the game had stopped working entirely.

On top of all of this, when it did work It gave me the message

'If using a modem you may need to connect to your ISP before connecting to battle.net' on my laptop when it decided not to play up and work.

I have also now found that my PC doesn't run battle.net, with the same error message appearing despite running fine before I installed it on my laptop.

The other strange thing is that I can access any other realm such as U.S. west or east with no error message.

If anyone has any advice or has experienced such problems before help would be greatly appreciated.|||Temp ban....|||try to change your IP

[:1]Alright, so I just installed Diablo II and Diablo II: LOD on my Windows 7 laptop. I can not open it from the desktop icon, but can from the Start Menu. Upon doing so, it opens the plain black full screen, does a little laggy flash three times before continuing on to showing the Blizzard title, etc. Now, once I click on Battle.net it says this:

Battle.net is unable to properly identify your application version.



So.. Any suggestions on what to do? I've restarted my computer, done the video test (which selected a glide for me, but when I accepted it said something that I can't remember but what I know did no select it.) I'm lost.|||Make sure you're running in administrator mode.|||And how do I do that?|||Not on a W7 machine at the moment but I think you can right click on the main game icon inside the folder in which it resides. See if there is a "run as" item to click when you right click. Do so and then choose to run as admin. During this process you might find a setting option to "always run as admin". See if that works for you.

Are you an admin on the Windows account you're using?

If I recall you can also run in XP compatibility mode.|||Meh, no such item identified as 'run as' and I'm unsure what would be a good second to that. Never has this installation been difficult. ><|||Double post-

I just tried adding the -w at the end of the shortcut to see if there was a difference and even tried taking the screen from normal size to minimized and still no help..|||Ok, do this then. Right click on the main icon and go to properties. Select the compatibility tab. Choose to run in XP compatibility, select to run in 256 colors and as an admin.|||Got it and it works. Thank you! Diablo 2 Crash Report - Essences/Tokens

[:1]Okay this is my first started thread entirely. Thought I'd go asking around since finding my solution doesnt help.

- Before, I was showing a "Token" to one of my friends quite new to the game. (still new-ish)... or trying to when every time I either dropped it on the ground, or popped it up in Trade view, it would make him Time out.

Just today, we went through Chaos Sanctuary (dying) to get a Magic Find drop on Diablo. What dropped was Chance Gaurd Chain gloves, some yellow crap, and a Burning Essence of Terror.

About 3 seconds after that, my buddy seemed to have "Left The Game" as reported when someone usually leaves a game. But HE tells me he got an error that reads out

"Halt

Location: line #1678

Expression: Unrecoverable internal error 6fd730d1"

We even tested trading the item just to get what it said exactly.

Previously, I had him log into my account to play my Fire Sorc (containing another Terror Essence in stash) just to have another Time out/crash.

(We tested that just now too)

Other than that, his game still runs perfectly. He even never has lag/Ping spikes or system slowdown with this game.

Due to these tests, I can say its for SURE the new items of patch 1.13 are causing this crash.

And before you suggest it, he already tried reinstalling the patch, it just tells you its "Your current version is more up-to-date then the one you are trying to install".|||Try reinstalling the whole game

We're going to work on that now. He had a torrent copy which he bought a CD key for.

This time I'm gonna give him a CD image for my own disks and using that same CD key.

So I don't know if the E/T problem is gonna fix, or if itll be worse when he starts getting system lag/ping spikes every 10 minutes... Guess we'll find out.|||I coulda sworn I already posted this once.

- I got the problem solved I just uploaded my own patch_d2.exe to his folder (his was different, odd) and now his game no longer crashes when playing my Sorc which holds a couple of Terror Essences.
