CD Key In Use

Error in logging into Battle.net - "CD Key in use by_____". This is the second time this has happen. Have I been hacked? Any suffestion would be appreciated.

Here are all the possibilities I can think of...

You bought D2 from a store and the seal was intact...

- Someone used a keygen and just happened to randomly get the same key as yours (unlikely but possible)

- Your key got compromised electronically via trojans, keyloggers etc. (Very likely if you have downloaded some sort of cheat/hack.)

- Someone borrowed/stole your D2 disks and installed it on their own computer

- If the name using they key is yours, D2 may have been closed incompletely, especially after a crash. Kill diabloii.exe or game.exe if you see it in your task manager. Otherwise it should clear itself up after 5 minutes or so.

You bought D2 from a store/eBay and the seal was NOT intact/there was no packaging...

- Most likely someone copied down the keys before the game was sold, or it was a return.

- The person who had it before you is still using (or gave away) the CD key.

If you have the disc sleeve with the CD key, ask Blizzard for a new key.

You bought a CD key and downloaded the game somewhere...

- The key is not legitimate. It is likely to be used by many people and accounts associated with it are likely to get closed.|||You got flagged by bnet, but some programs still think you're logged on. That's all. No reason to panic.|||I got that problem also, bu tim getting kicked every single time i try to connect to b.net, and im the only user of the key.

And when i sometimes manages to get onto the server and tries to get on the chat I recive a messeage that i lost connection to battle net...

Any tips how to make it work again?

Already tried reinstalling.|||if it happens after a lagspike and you were disconnected, or something similar, and you try to reconnect, it sometimes happens that you get that message. It's just that your char is still registered on the server and thus the game "thinks" that cdkey is in use.|||I'm having this trouble too now... for several days it's claimed that my CD key is in use by myself with my first and last name, but my disks are all here, it's not installed on anyone else's computer, and i'm so poor that i'm obviously not using any sort of 3rd party crap. I can still get on using my primary key, but whenever i use faster user switching my 2nd account gives the cd key in use line.
