respecing

i heard in 1.13 you can acctualy restat your chars. is there any truth to this i cant find any information.|||I haven't played the final version yet, but did play on the test realm for a couple of weeks.

In that version (1.13b) you get a free respec from Akara as a reward for the Den of Evil quest, in addition to the bonus skill point. When you use this, you get back all of the stat and skill points you have spent, and can redistribute them however you like.

Also, in Hell difficulty, the Act Bosses would drop "essences", of which there are four types. Collect one of each and cube them to create a Respec Token that allows you to again reset your skill and stat points.

I like the way it works, for the most part, but I think that having Act Bosses drop the essences was a really bad idea. Think of how much variety was added to MF runs by having the Keys drop from three Super-Uniques. I'm hoping that in the final release of the patch (1.13c) they stopped having essences dropped by act bosses. Guess I'll find out tonight.



EDIT: Just learned from another player online that Act Bosses are still dropping the essences. So sad. They could have done so much more with that idea.|||hmmm im excited.
