hooray widescreen users

I'm a widescreen user and was looking forward to the new widescreensupport of 1.13. I was expecting to be able to play fullscreen, unstretched (i.e. with black bars left and right and using my full vertical resolution), but nothing changed after applying the patch. When playing fullscreen the picture is still stretched in both directions. Also the new option -nofixaspect has no effect.

So, what is the new functionality that the patch notes refer to and how do I activate it?

Btw: Is there a a config file for diablo somewhere (like diablo2.ini)?|||For this, you'll have to play in Windowed mode (-w). You can now press the maximize button, and play "almost fullscreen". (This will probably look pretty ugly, but at least better than streched fullscreen)|||The -nofixaspect does the reverse of what you think it does. If you want black bars in full screen mode you have to change setting in your video card and this has not changed with recent versions.|||Quote:

I see. So the patch was actually a downgrade, since now the 3rd party widescreen mod doesn't work anymore. :/

Thanks for the explanation.

For some reasons this doesn't work on my system. The needed settings (scaling...) are grayed out in my nvidia control center. I was hoping the Diablo patch would be a workaround.|||http://www.svenswrapper.de/english/downloads.html

download gl32ogl14d.zip and unzip to your d2 install folder

run glide-init.exe, pick english/dutch, opengl-infos, query opengl-infos

if nothing is listed under unsupported extensions its fine

pick settings

tick keep aspect ratio, desktop resolution, and vsync

then test to verify it works

if its successful (framerate stays higher than 25)

run D2VidTst.exe -> run testes -> pick glide

then remove the -w and other switches from your d2 shortcut|||Quote:

Hey! This is working.

Thanks a lot.
