Error Installing Patch?

I think I may know the answer to why this occurred, but if I can solve it, that'd be marvelous. If anyone can help, please post ASAP.

thanks to like the two viewers. but i fixed my problem. it was a misplaced file and i am now playing under the new patch.

hit up nuttersums.|||how did you fix it? im having the same problem|||If you are playing SP and using some mods like RWM you will see this error using your regular shortcut. Go to your install directory and run the game from the "Diablo II.exe" and you should do fine.

i dont use mods ive reinstalled it from the site 4 times in different locations each time i still get this error please tell me how to fix it|||i fixed it finally... somehow the file is moved to the c drive and u have to move it to the diablo folder ty not telling any1 how u fixed it opening poster..
