Split Screen Problem

I reinstalled LOD after a long hiatus. Unfortunately, the game displays in a rather unplayable manner:

The top third of the screen is cut off and moved to the bottom so that one has to move the cursor up to get to the bottom part of the screen. It's as if a person's head was cut off, the body raised and the head appended below the feet.

I'm thinking this is a dosbox problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.|||Forgive my ignorance, but why are you using dosbox? Diablo 2 is a Windows/MAC game.

I'm no expert in these matters so if I am asking a noob kind of question, it's because I'm a noob kind of guy :)

Someone with some knowledge will no doubt post a more helpful reply very soon.|||Quote:

I may be wrong as well. The problem first surfaced when I played an old DOS game through Steam. The game worked for awhile and then glitched. After that, this problem arose and the game became unplayable. I simply assumed that it was a DOSBOX problem.|||If you are running Windows 95 or later and have a Windows copy of D2, you should be able to run D2 just fine without any other magic trickery (and ditto for MAC/MAC D2).

XP, Vista, or Win7 usually require that you run the game as a PC Administrator (rather than a Limited User).

If you have further problems, please list your OS, Hardware specification, and any other relevant info and someone helpful here will attempt to assist you. :)|||The computer is an HP desktop running windows xp pro with a Quadro NVS 285 card from Nvidia. intel Pentium processor. Prior to the glitch in XCOM, D2 LOD worked just fine on the computer.|||have you restarted the pc since the problem started?

you can also try updating the nvidia forceware drivers|||Quote:

I have already tried these steps. This is so dang frustrating. The game is completely unplayable this way.|||what video mode are you using? if you run d2 with the -opengl switch the menus will look normal, but ingame everything is messed up

give the glide wrapper a shot

http://www.svenswrapper.de/english/downloads.html

download gl32ogl14d.zip and unzip to your d2 install folder

run glide-init.exe, pick english/dutch, opengl-infos, query opengl-infos

if nothing is listed under unsupported extensions its fine

pick settings

tick keep aspect ratio, desktop resolution, and vsync

then test to verify it works

if its successful (framerate stays higher than 25)

run D2VidTst.exe -> run testes -> pick glide
