Screen Fit Problems

[:1]Hey there just wondering if anyone can help me with this problem, had it for about year now, the game runs

Just the picture is in the middles of the screen and it is not widescreen, i went into properties and changed it to maximized yet still that did nothing

Acer Aspire 5532 - Win 7 Home Premium - ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

Cheers|||Hi, I too have an Acer Aspire and I have had the same problem. There are two ways of fixing it (well, one way of fixing it, and one way of getting around it.)

If you want to play the game full screen, with the game filling the screen rather than being centered, right click the ATI icon in your system tray, and click "Catalyst Control Center..."

On the next screen, select "Basic" and click "Next." Then go to the "Quick Settings" tab and click "Notebook Panel Properties." Then, click "Resize the desktop to fit the display panel" and then click "Go." It will then present you with three options:
  • Do not resize The game is centered, which is what you are currently seeing. This is because the games display resolution is much lower than that of your computer, and your computer doesn't want to stretch the image.

  • Resize to fit the panel display This option will stretch the game to fill your whole monitor. While this sounds like what you want, keep in mind that if you have a widescreen monitor, it may make Diablo 2 look kind of ugly.

  • Resize, but keep the images original dimensions (aspect ratio) This is the option I recommend. The game will be stretched to fill your monitor, but it won't be stretched. You may have black bars on the left and right of your screen, but the image stays the same shape as the game was meant to be played.

The only problem with the above fix, well at least for me, is that it doesn't seem to want to stay that way. Meaning you might have to run this wizard and change this every time you want to play. I personally would recommend playing the game in windowed mode, and then maximizing it. To do this just right click your Diablo 2 Icon and click "Properties" and under the "Shortcut" tab, add " -windowed" to the box next to "Target" (without the quotes, of course.)|||Mate im getting a error saying

" The Folder '-windowed"CProgram Files\Diablo 2\Diablo2.exe" Specified in the Target Box is not valid. Make sure the path name and file name are correct.

|||That makes sense. the line should read something like this:

Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II\Diablo2.exe" -windowed

The " -windowed" command (or just " -w") should be appended at the end of the original line, without quotes and with nothing more than a space separating.

No quotes or anything.

Pretty much what you want to do is to click the box, and just add -windowed to whatever was there in the first place, at the end.
